Cracking " Been There " Balmoral bonnet to the Lovat Scouts.
Named inside to a member of the family who founded the Regiment ( Fraser of Lovat ) .
This I bought recently direct out the home with other items named and attributed to members of this famous military family.
Bonnet has service wear and crude field repairs to the lower edge.

93rd (Sutherland Highlanders) Victorian Officers bonnet badge (Bloomer 238).
Only worn between1879-1881, this is a genuine example of this rare badge. ( not your £20 evilbay fake )
Gilt on brass with 2 brass north and south lugs to the rear.
Old polish residue .
The Real Deal and scarce with the top/ bottom lugs.

Genuine brass large lozenge shaped tunic button.

Back in the day a number of genuine buttons appeared in the market place . These had been dug in the area of Balaklava .
Later spurious ones appeared.
This one is the Real Deal , one of a number I bought from the late Stan Paget.
