WW2 - W.V. S. ( WOMENS VOLUNTARY SERVICE ) TOMMY HELMET - ATTRIBUTED

One of the rarest of the Home Front helmets.

Usually if these crop up they are Zuckerman helmets whereas this is a combat quality Tommy helmet , not a B. Grade.
Maker mkd and 1939 dtd. shell.
Hand applied " W V S " to both front and back in a maroon paint.
Khaki shell.
Liner and chin strap.
I have research on the owner which comes with the sale along with the womans lapel badge.
Belonged to Agnes Maude Stevenson ( Tag ) from the famous Clydeside shipbuilding family.
She served with the Scottish Nurses in WW1 , was a Missionary in Africa inter war then served with the WVS in WW2.
Fascinating character.
