Recruited from around the Stirling area , primarily the villages of Gargunnock , Kippen and surrounds.

This is an other ranks German East Africa native Asgari volunteer soldiers Tarbusch (fez) eagle.
This type worn solely by the East African Polizeitruppe in WW1.
It has the distinctive large gilded metal eagle of the Polizeitruppe as opposed to the smaller white metal version for the Schutztruppe askaris.

Dark green velvet with well embroiled regimental device of boars head and wildcat with coronet and cypher.

7th Argylls were based at Stirling.

This is a super and unusual helmet.
"W" and a large rank diamond to both back and front so the insignia literally goes back to front right over the top odf the helmet.
White stencilling.
Original early war shiny brown paint , this with some light surface rust .
