Folded wing decal visible beneath the paint , most likely army but the Lot number is indistinct under the soldiers name in the rear apron.

Extremely Rare short lived piece from my personal Argylls collection.
Centre from the helmet plate used on the cloth helmet betwenn 1878 to 1181 only.
O/R's.
Never cleaned but I daresay it will polish up nicely if desired.
With the generic back plate , I see these doing upwards of £650 with Bosley achieving a hammer price of £950.
