WW2 BRITISH BLACK LANYARD & ARP WHISTLE
WW2 " A.R.P. " ( Air Raid Precautions ) whistle on black pleated lanyard.
That's how it came straight out the house early June '24.
Possible he was a Great War soldier who used his unit lanyard for his whistle ? I've never seen one attached to an army lanyard before.

Regimental tartan shoulder slide as worn primarily in North Africa usually only on one epaulette.
Mc Kenzie tartan so potentially Seaforth or H.L.I.
Wool .
Nicely folded for wear on the shoulder strap.
Never been stitched so likely unused.
