Nice Victorian Argylls Volunteer Btn. pipers plaid brooch with Pipe band markings to back.
Un marked hollow silver. Front retains it's silver frosting.
As per a Regular brooch but with an added scroll below " 1st Renfrew V.B. ".
Domed back with gas holes.
Correct overlong stout pin for the period.
Scratched to the back " P B ". and " 1450 ".

Battle Honours up to the Boer War.
No rubbing or damage.
Original stout pin and hook and the hinge is the type that should the pin break, it's easy to fashion another and fit it through the hole.
This type is likely for a piper.

Real rarity here.
Circa 1881.
Heavy cast nickel silver in a style similar to the Black Watch to who they were affiliated..
Stamped to the back " 5th V.B. - H.L.I. ".
Original hook, hinge and needle pin which is slightly over long which is correct for the period.
Age toning with no rubbing or damage.

Blue / grey heavy wool jumper as worn by Officers, Snco's and Pipe band.
This is the earlier version replaced in the '80's by a dark grey version.
This one still has it's pipers sleeve badge which could be easily removed if desired.
Good condition.

Hollow silver with small holes in the back for releasing the gas during the manufacturing process.

Very well detailed St. Andrew and thistles. Original over long pin.
Considering the size of the unit they can not have had many pipers and I've never seen one of these for sale before.
