WW1 BRITISH - TANK SPLATTER MASK - SARACENS HEAD , GLASGOW

This is the 2nd of two genuine Great War tank masks I have for sale.
Good example overall that I would suggest saw action in WW1.
The front leather is dry and there are a couple of small sections missing.
This one has the same pig skin leather to the inside not the usual chamois suggesting it is an early example.
The original head tapes are good but one side is short.
Chain mail is very good.
This is a One Look original and not ex stores and it's nice it has genuine provenance tying it to a collection that tended to be items handed in by vets and their families.
This one came from the Saracens Head pub in Glasgow. Up until the pub changed I believe in the 1970's they had a large collection of militaria they had built up over the years.
When the collection was sold off , this mask was bought by a Glasgow antiques dealer who frequented the pub and he sold it to me around year 2000.
