Superb example of an officers / Pipe Major / Drum Majors Regimental Sgian Dhu .
Made by the best of the Scottish silversmiths Kirkwoods of Edinburgh.
Kirkwoods had their own workshop as opposed to Anderson etc. who farmed the work out locally.
Gilded fittings with sharp detail thistle motif.
Original foiled citrine to the top mount.
Bog oak hand carved handle with the correct star shape behind the older style St. Andrew , this unique to the Seaforths.
St. Andrew vety well detailed.
Morocco leather covered wood scabbard with smooth gilded mounts.
Clipped back steel blade.
Rare and in fine condition , circa the Great War.
