VICTORIAN -17TH LANCERS CZAPKA - HELMET PLATE

Good genuine example.
Brass, lance-cap plate for The 17th Lancers.
Some polishing to high points.
Old polish residue.
Two screw fastenings (east and west).
As per , KK723 & Rowe & Carman 97.
In the book " Head Dress of the British Lancers 1816- to the Present ",this is described as, 'Pattern E'.
The South Africa Battle Honour (bottom right) dates this plate to circa 1879 - 1902.
