Beautiful example of a solid silver Gordons officers badge in rare Provincial Aberdeen silver.
Stamped to rear " ABD - SIL ".
No rubbing or damage and stunning looking , still with the antlers up , not turned down as found on many examples.
One of two badges purchased from the estate of Brig. Alister Fraser Gordon D.S.O. and this one has his initials scratched to the back .

Brigadier-General Alister Fraser Gordon, CMG, DSO (1 February 1872 – 31 July 1917) was a British Army officer. He was killed during the First World War whilst commanding the 153rd Infantry Brigade, shortly before the beginning of the Third Battle of Ypres.
He fought in Chitral 1895 , Tirah 1897 and the Ashanti campaign where he won his DSO.
