Kriegsmarine U-Boat Badge By Friedrich Orth in zinc. The reverse of the badge is marked “FO” for Friedrich Orth, Wein.
Vertical needle pin and soldered catch, measuring 39mm x 49.7mm.
Most of the original gilding is gone as is usual with zinc badges nevertheless this is a good example from the late war with nice aged patina and no damage or repairs.
One of two badges bought locally from the family.
Found while clearing the grandfathers house, he being a WW2 Scottish soldier who ended the war in Germany. Both badges I posted on WAF to a 100% thumbs up
