WW2 - LOVAT SCOUTS OFFICERS BALMORAL / SCOUT BONNET - NAMED - ATTRIBUTED
Cracking " Been There " Balmoral bonnet to the Lovat Scouts.
Named inside to a member of the family who founded the Regiment ( Fraser of Lovat ) .
This I bought recently direct out the home with other items named and attributed to members of this famous military family.
Bonnet has service wear and crude field repairs to the lower edge.
White/ black dicing.
Hand carded blue black wool body of the same pattern as an Atholl bonnet.
Two thin long tails to back.
Black waxed cotton lining with a white period label with the owners name to crown. ( more info to the buyer ).
WW2, " Je Suis Pres " cap badge , sharp, silvered , die struck and with old polish residue to the back.
The small black touree on the crown is absent.
Otherwise a great bonnet which did'nt sit out the war and has fantastic provenance.
Approx size 56.
Nicely shaped by the officer.
