GERMAN EARLY PRE WAR - HEER DAGGER - EICKHORN
One Look original.
Heer officers .
Early pre - war dagger circa 1936 - 1939 .
Good deep 1935 type squirrel logo .This one is the etched version , not stamped . A bit of srvice wear to the sides of the logo. Squirrel retains his dark finish.
Forum posted just to be sure and it's a 100% thumbs up.
Has some light service wear and nice uncleaned patina. Not an ex stores dagger.
Orange " Pumpkin " handle with no cracks or damage.
Silvered fittings.
The rear of the cross guard has light finish loss through wear which I personally like.
All fittings matching and with commensurate toning.
Pebbled scabbard with no dents or creases just nice age toning.Laurel wreath pattern to hanger rings .
Handle mounts fit perfectly to the top and bottom on the handle.
Tight fit between scabbard and dagger.
Blade retains it's bright finish . There's a couple of bits of very light surface rust but as this is an uncleaned " As found " dagger it is to be expected. Good point.
Lovely quality example and as said , Forum posted on WAF for comments and it's come back as a Good early one.
