WW2 - LONDON METROPOLITAN POLICE INSPECTORS TOMMY HELMET - RARE

A totally untouched very hard to come by wartime Metropolitan Police Inspectors Tommy helmet with decal insignia straight from the family .
Blue painted shell with a rank pip decal surmounting a decal transfer with, 'POLICE' .
This decal type as opposed to the usually found paint stencil, originated in the London area which ties in exactly with the owner of this one having served with the Met.during WW2.

Liner strap is 1938 dtd. and maker mkd. " Vero " and size 7.
Shell has impressed " W.D " and V.M.
Scratched initials " K G " and " Knight " to the inside apron.
Good percentage of the early shiny paint finish.
Good liner and cushion top pad.
Good chin strap.
