Very good clean example.
Retains most of the painted finish to the zinc alloy handle.
Pommel has ( number ) , " 1 " for J. Maybry of London.
A pommel number is a clear indication of wartime manufacture . Handles were outsourced to different manufacturers who were allocated a pommel number for quality control purposes.
Cross guard double stamped with Rodgers Sheffield and Made in Sheffield , the latter might not be quite right as it's indistinct ?
Nice blade with good point.
Scabbard good and the elastic has an amount of elasticity left.
