WW1 1916 DTD. - BLACK WATCH OFFICERS PRIVATE PURCHASE HELMET WITH HACKLE

I'd only ever seen these in photographs so to actually turn one up and c/w it's original hackle came as a big surprise, even the Black Watch museum do not have one .
Private purchase, " Hawkes & Co.London" helmet with purpose built metal loop to accommodate this type of unique to it round red hackle.
Serial number and 1916 date to crown.
Hackle seems to be on a sprung wire that slots into the loop.
Shell retains almost all it's drab finish and the officer type liner is excellent.
Original chin strap.
Expensive helmet due to extreme rarity and condition.
Don't phone for the price if you have a heart condition
100% original.
Worth emptying the piggy bank of your squirreled away gold sovereigns !
I seriously doubt another of these will ever appear in the market place.
